Colour: Sapwood colour ranges from almost white, to a light golden or reddish brown. Heartwood is a darker reddish brown.

Grain/ Texture: Grain is generally straight but may be wavy. Has a fine, even texture.

Janka Hardness: 700 lbf

Bird’s Eye: Caused by new shoots (branches) that get absorbed back into the wood before growing any further causing tiny knots in the wood.
